Is this a good thing to do? ?

In our Christian youth group we are talking about the saying Jesus said " there is no love greater than that of one who will lay down is life for another " everyone got that meaning wrong. Though my friend interpreted it beautifully. She said its not just about dying for your mum or brother but about dying for your enemy. Because that what true love is. Caring for someone more than yourself. Our teacher asked how many people would do that if it came down to it %26amp; she was the only one who said she would. Everyone laughed at her though, especially when she said, even though Jesus died for everyone she would do the same - shed even go to hell for them, even her enemy. I think it's a noble thing though our youth mates told her she was weird. Any ideas? Cos she was upset about it and they reduced her to tears. Is this a good thing to do? ?
Jesus was God incarnate, God works through others too.
He died and left a very powerful message, so would we die for him and humanity.
Because without humanity there is no life.

The apostle Paul was an executioner, Jesus whispered this to him whilst he was busy killing people.
This is what he wrote/Epistle.

Paul1:13
“If I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but do not have love, I have become a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal.”
“If I have the gift of prophecy, and know all mysteries and all knowledge; and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. And if I give all my possessions to feed the poor, and if I surrender my body to be burned, but do not have love, it profits me nothing.”
Love is patient, love is kind. It is not jealous, [love] is not pompous, it is not inflated, it is not rude, it does not seek its own interests, it is not quick-tempered, it does not brood over injury, it does not rejoice over wrongdoing but rejoices with the truth. It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.

When ever God is incarnate upon earth it's only a matter of time before the wolves ascend to nail him.

God works through others too.
They pestered Bob Marley for so long that he eventually slipped up with a few words which were twisted into being construed as anti governments rhetoric, then they killed him out of fear.

Yeah, I call it the tidal wave of darkness because as soon as a chink of light is shown there are far too many abstinent spiritually dead people quick to extinguish the light busy building castle insanity.

John 15:13 says about laying down your life for your friends. I don't know which other scripture verse you are talking about. It doesn't say anything about dying for your enemies in the passage. Maybe your teacher made a mistake in what was said. Maybe there is another passage I don't recall about enemies. I used to teach and kids like to "get their teacher's goat" it seems whenever they get the chance. God bless. Is this a good thing to do? ?
Teenagers can be brats. I have found your generation, at times, to be more noble and accepting than mine. You were, as a class, acting beneath yourselves--especially compared to the rest of your great generation.

It is good your teacher is not a prophet. You would have been torn apart by she-bears.
Yes, it is true. Jesus died for not just friends but His enemy's. Jesus died for those who have rejected Him, want nothing to do with Him, never met Him and well everyone. Its not just about doing a noble thing, its about His plan to save all of man kind.Is this a good thing to do? ?
A very gallant thing for her to say she would do but, her death for anyone else would not save them eternally. Only Jesus can do that.

Jesus died for us so that we can live for Him.
It is a noble idea but she really would not do it. When faced with hell, she wouldn't go.

They shouldn't have picked on her, though. She meant well.
She's got the doctrine, but the doctrine is moronic.
Your youth group are a bunch of punks.

What Jesus preached was RIGHT, not EASY.
