Can the police do anything about this?

Not that long ago I was led on by someone on a dating site who made a fake profile and stole someone's pictures deceiving people she talks to so they believed those pictures were hers. well me and this person started talking a lot, and we exchanged phone numbers and planned to meet up, when we were going to meet up she gave me a fake address but I didn't know until I got there, and I drove there all the way from my hometown, then she sends me a text telling me that she's not the girl In the picture, after I did so much for her. well I found out through a mutal friend who also talks to her on that site that she Is still doing the same thing to guys leading them on. this person who I've never met and don't know what she really looks like Is stealing people's pictures online and making fake profiles on dating sites and just social sites to lead guys on and deceive them. I am wondering can anything be done because she Is hurting many guys who contact her as they believe she's the girl In the pictures she has up on her profile. Is there a way she can get arrest or can ANYTHING be done? thanks for your help. Can the police do anything about this?
Yes YeS YES YEEES! YES! YES! Of course! she is creating FAKE ACCOUNTS, LOTS TOO which you can report. She is also USING OTHER'S PICTURES, without their permission! - which is very illegal. Report this manipulative cow. The police probably will not do much at first though because they have bigger cases to deal with. Oh well though, Anyway, just report her on any of the sites you know she uses and get all your friends to do it aswell because then she will prob get blocked. But she may create more accounts, so keep ur eyes open. Hope i helped. :D
Only if she steals people's pictures and name information Ect. It would be considered identity theft..but I don't think the police will do anything about it.. Since you haven't actuallly physically seen her. Therefore theyll have no way of catching her?Can the police do anything about this?
Report your experience to the dating site in question. They will be your best route to start with.
Not unless you actually met someone in personCan the police do anything about this?
Report this to the web site and they may block her out. To be arrested a crime must take place which is an act committed or omitted violating a law with a punishment attached and the must be probable cause which is a set of facts to make a reasonable person come to a strong suspicion of guilt. She lied to you and that's not a crime in this matter either is being stupid a crime. If you had a big enough loss you may want to pursue a civil case but I highly reckoned you try a more secure dating site if That's what you want to do meet girls online. Christianmingle.com is on of the more reputable ones.
Yup. For this he or she can get really punished . and if you are under 18 or 21 i dont know where are you from then this can be child horassement. You definitely should report this to police!
Unless there is money or property lost because of fraud, the police is not going to get involved. Just rack that one up to experience.
no just try another site ,there all so reputable.why stop your out there now.im sure there is a catch for you
Patrick is the only person who has it right. Unless she has caused a significant financial loss or damage to property the police won't get involved. Sure you can report her to the site, but all she is going to do is go to another site.

If you have her real personal information you could band together with the other men and pursue a legal action. Then all you have to do is prove to a court of law that her actions dealt a hardship on all of you.

Good luck in whatever you deside to do.
