I have a huge burdan for so many of my friends, and I feel like sometimes I try to change them. My best friend, who is a very great influence, told me to let God take over. How do I do this? Its SO hard. Recently, I've been drifting from God. I feel really bad, and I want to get back. But its hard. My counsiler told me I was depressed. And I didn't think I was, but now I understand. I look back, and I'm always upset. I want God to take control because I know I'm going to do the wrong thing if I don't. Thank you.How do i put God in control?
You can pray in faith and ask him to take your burdens, then cease from worrying.
understand that God loves you just as you are, you do not have to change yourself or do "works" to make him accept you.
Simply come to him in repentance and simple faith and he will accept you.
John 6.37
All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.
Matthew 11.28-30
"Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light."
God is not going to "be in control", neighbor. Control is the very opposite of love, and God is love.
Letting God take over is "religious speak" for a change in your life where you should be studying the life of Christ, and trying to imitate his character. This is a process that will take time, but at no point does God attempt to take over and control anything.
He wants you to learn to make good decisions, and he is there with advice, support, wisdom and love to pick you up when you fail.
That's life in this fallen world.
Good luck on your journey, neighbor. How do i put God in control?
If you want deity in the driver's seat, then you yield to your concept of deity. In the quiet of the night, you open your arms, or you get down on your knees, or you throw back your head etc and submit to the power of deity coursing through your veins (a mystic's stance).
In the book ..the letter to the Romans...there is a tricky formula that spells out just what you are asking in your question.
It is the "just as" formula. Listen carefully, so you don't miss it.
Picture in your mind two slave masters. One is sin. It is leading you to death and destruction.
One is the LORD...leading you to abundant life, and building you up..(edification).
Now the formula, a strategy for success, if you will.
Just as....you yielded your members (hands, heart, feet, body, etc.) as servants of sin
...so yield them to the LORD.
You will need to work out the details of that, but that is the formula. Chapter 12 is a bit more specific on the "how to" of it all; but still gives a wide set of options on how to do it in 'your' obedient life. Your life in the LORD may look like everyone elses, or it may be unique and special. Work out your salvation with "fear and trembling"..which is Bible talk for "be excited about it" .How do i put God in control?
We all have to be careful JUST to live our own lives. We have to know we are showing
disrespect if we don't let others do whatever with their lives. We see it, they don't.
But do we see what WE are doing? Are we in that same position? So we shift, and
look after our own life. Not many people believe in God at all. By trying to 'help' them,
you can lose our own beliefs which is what you are saying. You will drift because
you are tagging after these friends.
It is not a place where we can really have friends more than very superficial,
usually. We have to aim for quality life for ourselves. I hope you find this.
You will recover from the depression once you get close to God so you can
live your own life. Then, who knows, maybe your friends will want to know
what you have that they don't have. But they...they have to ask.
Surrender, let go, get out of your head and get into your heart, that is where that divine spark resides. In our hearts. Lots of people have been holding on for so long that they don't know how to let go. But I think the best advice is to just pray and ask God to help you surrender.
Do you read your Bible each day? Do you compare your life to the statements of the Bible that God sent to us? Do You Pray to God each day, best multiple times? So you can get God's response.
You may like going to www.grizzlyadams.com? They have doz.s of DVDs covering the Bible, its history, happenings, predictions, special codes,... So you can SEE a lot more of what there is in/with the Bible.
If you are doubting God because of negative events in your life; the Bible tells us we Have to be tested to prove we will stay with God. Also somethings that may seem negative at the time may change to God's gifts later on. Like a man tried to murder me with a hammer three decades ago, causing Epileptic seizures to the point of falling unconscious. Then thirteen years ago my children were kidnapped. Instead of having to see a therapist Everyday (as others would need), my seizures Stop the pains!
Try making a private appointment with God every single day. Start with a certain time, you pick. Five little minut es. BE THERE. Sit quietly, and pray, give thanks and then tell God all you appreciate him for. Next day, same time, same place. Bring your favorite religious book. Let Him know, you want to be back. Know what? The fact you're looking for him again, is that He's already found you and was wanting you to to come back. Carry on my wayward son... there'll be peace when you are done... you know the tune... :)) He loves you.
Grace unto you, and peace,
from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
Bible containing Old (Law) and New (Grace)
is about Back-ward%26lt;--BC and AD--%26gt;For-ward.
The For-word: Grace: is also the Up-word.
A Back-word: Law: was also a Down-word.
Depressed = oppressed of the d-evil (Law),
still happens to those who under-stand, but
not to those seated with Christ above Law.
Epistrepho "converted" = For-ward to Man
Strepho "converted" = Back-ward to Child
So Christ sitteth "above" ... hall of fame: Grace,
where Jesus sat "down" ... hall of shame: Law.
The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ with you all. Amen.
Pushing responsibility on to something else doesn't solve problems
You can't be more vague about your problems but shifting burden on to other people is just irresponsible.
obey him. thats the key believe me thats all you need to do, and then when you have done that all this love and friendship and positivity floods your life x
Just sit in a chair and refuse to feed, bathe or clothe yourself. God will takeover. If he doesn't then he doesn't want to interact with you anyhow.
Let go of the steering wheel.
Pray, go to church, talk to someone older than you that has more experience
I find all three of these help greatly.
By letting yourself go out of control.
He already is so just accept it.
Illusion is that which appears, seems real, but then disappears like a mirage but Truth (reality) is that which is and has been always. Self is a delusion that mixes and dilutes Truth (reality) with illusion. Time is a word we use to describe illusion and its nature while Life is Truth and is always. Life is already Eternal but it is the deluded mind that mixes Life and time and then lives by the philosophy of "lifetime". We have been given time in order to make a decision of which we want more Truth which brings us the nature of the Truth or more illusion which brings us the nature of illusion. Death is the result of the nature of illusion. We must reap what we sow. God simply doesn't want us to wait til we die but to realize the Truth now and humble the time created and therefore illusory self identity for the sake of the Truth which is the imagless Spirit of Life our loving Father whom Jesus came to introduce us to and to teach us how to humble the self.
