You could always say something totally weird and funny, depending on your friends sense of humor that is.
For instance; "Frog's can't fart!" And then smile brilliantly and wait for a response. I bet it's in English. Sorta along the lines of , "Whaaat?"
In which case you can double crack on the prior statement by answering that with; The blue jay told me you'd want to know that.
After a few of those from the hip weirdo quips, folks usually get the hint.
After all, when your friend knows you don't understand the language, they could be fu3king with you to their satisfaction, without your even knowing it.
Plus, that's just disrespectful in the first place so I'd wonder if they were indeed your friend.Something funny/witty to say to someone when they speak in a different language?
