Saddles, to sell or not to sell?

Alrighty! Granted I will be discussing this with my trainer tomorrow, but I'm asking in a 'what-would-you-do-in-my-shoes' way.

So this year I'm going to be buying a new show saddle before the first run of the year. And I've got to sell a few things in order to do that. I will be selling one of my work saddles for a couple extra pennies but I'm split whether to sell the roping saddle as well, or hang onto it. Granted I have some time, but I don't want to be scrambling at the very last minute.

I bought the roping saddle early last year. It's a 15.5in 2008 Martin trophy saddle from the USTRC eastern regionals. It's absolutely goregous and has its fair share of silver and tooling all over. I love riding in it and in the event I need to throw it on a horse to move and doctor some cattle, it comes in handy. Not to mention I got it for a steal. It's just a great saddle (it is a Martin after all) in great shape. However, I have not even pulled it off the rack and out from under the cover since early august (well oiled it a few times since, but not ridden in it).

My dilemma: its a great saddle, and it is handy when I do need to use it, however the event it is actually used is rare and if I did sell it, I would sure have a little more cash for something I'd be using more often. I also have this odd nagging feeling whenever I sell something that the second I get rid of it, I'll need it - I collect stuff LOL any high quality items I can get for a good deal I snatch up and keep forever. Bad habit.

Granted no one on here can decide for me, but if you were in my shoes, what might you do?Saddles, to sell or not to sell?
You could sell the Martin, put part of the money towards your new show saddle and use the rest to get yourself a decent beater saddle. You could find a nice plain-Jane roping saddle on ebay dirt cheap if you don't mind riding in something older. That way you'd have a little extra money to put towards the new saddle and still have a spare to ride when you need it.
Sell it. If it is such a good saddle there would be less for robbers to steal should they come looking in your tack room! Hoarding is a bad habit.Saddles, to sell or not to sell?
I would keep it! next summer you'll definatley regret it, and when you go to buy another one it will be alot more expensive
I'm no help, I'm just like you. You should see all the stuff in my tack room.Saddles, to sell or not to sell?
To sell
if i were in your shoes i would keep atleast one saddle as spare, incase you got another horse or if someone you know broke a leg and was unable to ride and u needed a saddle e.t.c but maybe you could sell it and buy the saddle you want and a cheap 2nd hand saddle as spare but it's up to you
