If you do only 2 years of Graduate School (a Master's degree) you can only be licensed in certain types of counseling psychology. Someone who gets a PhD (4-5 years after undergrad), can become a Clinical Psychologist, and get's a different kind of license. Technically, Psychologists work for a practice, not a company.
In some states, people with only a Master's degree can open a private practice in whatever branch of Psych they are licensed in (Marriage counseling, addiction counseling, etc.). Without knowing which state you live in, it's difficult to tell you exactly what the differences in permissions are for the different educational levels. To become a psychologist do you attend 6-9 years including undergraduate and graduate school?
I think that what you described would be the absolute minimum amount of training you could do in order to open doors on that business. In all likelihood, you're going to want another one to two years on top of that to earn more types of accreditations and certifications. At 6-9 years, you'll only be allowed to take certain kinds of cases, not all.To become a psychologist do you attend 6-9 years including undergraduate and graduate school?
