Can someone show me how to do this please! (algebra 2)?

What are the solutions of 2x^2 + 3x = 鈥??



Like Im pretty sure I need to use the quadradic formula but in the multiple choice answers it shows the imaginery number thing "i" It has me sooo confused !! :(Can someone show me how to do this please! (algebra 2)?
2x^2+3x=-5
2x^2+3x+5=0

x=-3+-square root of 9-40

so i think the answer is x=-3+-isquare root of 31
