Why do Catholics and Protestants hate each other!!?

It really annoys me! I'm a Protestant and my boyfriend is a Catholic, I couldnt give a toss what religion he is. I hate this whole mucked up system, I dont want my children growing up in a place where people hate you or you cant walk into an estate without being targeted. I wish there was some way to resolve things. Anyways why do people hate each other? because I dont. To be honest I dont think it actually IS religion everyones fighting aboutWhy do Catholics and Protestants hate each other!!?
In reality they get along. But in history, protestant was a breakaway faith from Catholicism. That caused a lot of battles over the years.

In Northern Ireland, it's more a case of political differences. With the Catholics wanting to be part of Ireland, who are Catholic of course, and Protestants wanting to remain part of the UK.

But here in England, it's irrelevant. There are plenty of Catholics and Protestants and it's rarely ever mentioned.

Religion often gets the blame for wars. When it's more often religion being abused as an excuse for fighting.
I have usually found that people hate largely for economic reasons. By hating someone and excluding them, you are able to reduce the number of people who "should" have access to limited resources. There are also political reasons that are related to economic reasons. By banding together and having a unifying concept, as Constantine knew, you can strengthen your armies to fight against others for those resources. Constantine was said to have little use for a "Jesus-god" and preferred the God of the old testament of fire and brimstone who struck down armies that opposed Him. Let's face it though, when God caused creation to take place, he did not establish any religion and he allowed people to prosper who called Him by a number of names. I think people tend to be too parochial in their thinking. They think everyone who came before them was crude and unaware. However, many of the principles that underlie science now were known by what we call "ancient man" even though they did not have the tools to explain it. The Palace of Knossos on Crete in ancient times had "air conditioning" through a series of tunnels that captured the winds of the Mediterranean and brought those breezes to the center of the palace. That feat has not been equaled to this day. Prejudice can only exist through lack of knowledge. Why do Catholics and Protestants hate each other!!?
Don't kid yourself...you're a hater too. Not that you're a bad person, but tell the truth, don't you hate the part of yourself that hates the thought of Catholics and Protestents hating each other? And don't you justify your hating that? Think about it!

Make no mis-take...whatever you see "out there" is always present somewhere within yourself...always!

Why do people hate at all? Because they do.

Uuuum if you are in a church where there is hate, whether you are Catholic, Protestant, or anything else, you need to get out now. I don't know where you are at/from, but Catholics and Protestants don't hate each other, not if they are real Christians. Why do Catholics and Protestants hate each other!!?
I don't know that that's true. My father is a Catholic and my mother is a Protestant and they've been in a loving, married relationship for almost 70 years!
protestants hate catholics mainly because they think they are unbiblical. Catholics tend to hate protestants because they do not do their research and hold negative views towards catholics.
Because Protestants are something entirely different from Christians and they like to believe that Catholics are not "real" Christians. It is all part of the delusion.

Like many feuds, most people have forgotten why they originally started fighting.
Hate is not a Christian attribute.
You aleady have some good answers to your question, so there's need to add to those !
Sounds to me like you hate people who hate...
Depends on where you live. I'm an American, %26amp; doesn't bother me. But, in some countries, it is a big deal....
