How do I switch back to google?

Okay so on my laptop, instead of just going to a search engine I usually just pull up a new tab and type whatever I'm looking for in the url box and it used to go straight to a google search. But I tried downloading yahoo messenger yesterday and downloaded something else by accident. I've since removed it (some pidgen thing I think?) but now every time I type in the url thing it does some babylon search and I don't like it. I want google back! Any clues on how to make it go back to google? How do I switch back to google?
Are you using Chrome?

Check your add-ons/programs to see if there is a babylon search add-on, get rid of it. Check for any remnants of the programs you deleted as well.

Uninstall and re-install your browser.

if you use internet explorer 8, there should be a search box with an arrow in the top right corner. Click the arrow pointing downward and Google should be there, i guess?

i understand your problem, but why not just type "google.ca" and search from there? How do I switch back to google?
Click on the wrench icon in the upper right hand corner then click options then were it says search change it to Google..
What browser you use? Go to tools/option and change the default search engine to google.com
