I am hoping for a fast answer to this, but i am looking for good sci fi/fantasy books...?

i have read orson scott card, cinda chima, and the margeret weis. these are all that come to mind.

i prefer books that are 250+ pages. i just finished reading the lost gate and Empire is not in the library. i have read 2001: a space odyssey and i am waiting for the next two of the hunger games. i have also read the bartemeus trilogy. i cant remember the other authors that i read so i am looking for books or authors that you just could not stop reading. orson scott card has not failed me yet, but some jerk lost three of his books at the same library.

i like some stories of magic, i love mythology, some space travel, but i much more prefer third world style things and things that have to do with swords and things that kinda took place as if it were 1100s or so.

i do like the magic style things of present day as it is interesting how they portray it. the lost gate and the wizard heir books were interesting as was a book that i think was artemis.

if your dont know specific books then authors would be great.I am hoping for a fast answer to this, but i am looking for good sci fi/fantasy books...?
If you have not read The Stand, I strongly recommend it. It's not exactly Sci-fi, but it's so good you won't care.

Steel Beach is exceptionally creative and interesting. I agree with Asimov's Foundation series as the other poster suggested, and also suggest John Varley's Gaia trilogy. His characters are some of the most colorful I've encountered.
The Magician's guild trilogy is brilliant, sounds like the right sort of thing

And also 'Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell' Also brilliant and sounds like the sort of thing you're looking for :)

Might find His Dark Materials trilogy good as well

You may have already seen this one, but Ender's Game is excellent.

Asimov's Foundation series is also special.
The lord of the rings sriesoully or the magician series both are brilliantI am hoping for a fast answer to this, but i am looking for good sci fi/fantasy books...?
