Do you think it is true that the higher your level of education the less common sense you have in your life about how to do basic things? Is it true that most people who go for higher education have less common sense?
Hahah, that's what everyone says about me! I get A's in every subject and am really good booksmart. But if you met me you'd think I was the dumbest person ever! I have terrible common sense, so I actually believe that this is true.Is it true that most people who go for higher education have less common sense?
No.
My husband has a high IQ. great at math and writing. and sometimes he drives me nuts with his lack of common sense.
You have the whole absent minded professor thing too.
but I am sure for every "smart" person with no common sense, you can find a smart person with common sense. and the reverse. there is a gal at my work with little education and not much common sense either. Is it true that most people who go for higher education have less common sense?
Not at all. It's the people who don't try to get the best education they can who have no common sense. Remember, you can have all the qualifications in the world and still do a very low level job, it just gives you a lot more choice.
I have met doctors who have no idea how to do or work simple things. It often makes me wonder how on earth they graduated university. Most of them had no idea about basic computer use, shopping, etc.
